- IF THE OUR HOUSE PROGRAM IS QUARANTINED
- For any period where the State of Maine mandates that businesses such as TWS are to have their physical place of business closed OR TWS determines it necessary to quarantine based on its COVID-19 Policy, TWS will immediately shift their service of teaching the Students at the Learning Center in Yarmouth to teaching the students online while the Student is at their home.
- There will be no refunds or discounts for teaching the Students online vs. at the Learning Center during these quarantine times.
- While the face-to-face time with the TWS staff will be reduced, Students will still receive their curriculum each week, daily one/one interaction with TWS staff, individualized and group assignments, and continued support through email or text throughout the academic day.
- MISSED LESSONS / CANCELATIONS
- At TWS, we are looking for Students and parents committed to their academics. Therefore, each lesson day is essential, and the Student's attendance is expected and will be recorded.
- There will be no makeups for any Student absences unless discussed and agreed upon by TWS.
- In cases of unpredictable circumstances, please discuss with TWS to determine if any flexibility can be made to accommodate a missed day or days. In all cases, no credits or refunds will be distributed for any missed days.
- INCLEMENT WEATHER
- TWS typically follows the cancelation and delay policies associated with the town of Yarmouth, Maine, or it will use its best judgment if the surrounding towns are hit with bad weather while Yarmouth is not.
- If there is snow or bad weather, please check our website at org/whildeweather to see if the Learning Center will be open. We will have it posted by 5:00 am at the latest. Additionally, we will send out an email to all Parents by 5:30 am any day we close the Learning Center.
- If there is a situation where TWS has not canceled or delayed their Program, yet a Parent feels it is unsafe for the Student to arrive safely at the Learning Center, then please get in touch with TWS, and a check-in will be held online with each Student that could not attend that day.
- Where there is Inclement Weather, Students are expected to continue with their Academic Assignments for that day unless given the day off by TWS. TWS may check in with the Student via zoom or Quickschool. When this occurs, this is not considered a canceled lesson day.
- EARLY RELEASE OR LEAVING THE LEARNING CENTER WITHOUT A TWS STAFF MEMBER
- If a Parent wishes for their Student to leave the TWS premise during the Academic time for an appointment, a notification must be made prior with a message through Quickschool. Additionally, TWS must always be made aware if a student leaves the TWS premise before the end of the school day.
- Unless a Parent gives TWS permission, Students are not to be outside the Learning Center property at any time without a TWS staff present.
- If permission has been granted to go outside the Learning Center without a TWS Staff, the Student must always ASK a TWS staff first to receive approval before they leave the Learning Center. DO NOT assume it is ok. Be prepared to tell the staff where and how long you will be gone.
- Any Student leaving the learning center without a TWS Staff MUST go with another TWS Student with permission to leave without a TWS Staff member.
- All the TWS behavioral rules apply while the student is away from the TWS premise during school hours.
- BEHAVIOR
At TWS, we expect each Student treats their time at TWS as a privilege and respect that others view their time at TWS similarly. To that end, we expect that all Parents and Students adhere to the following guidelines:
- Students will display a good attitude in class, including a willingness to participate with a cheerful attitude. Disrupting class in any way is not tolerated.
- Keeping the noise level to a respectable low is essential. We expect the Students to have fun, but it is important to respect the area and understand that others are learning.

- 3rd offense: Parent meeting with TWS with a possible suspension or expulsion from TWS's Our House Program at TWS's sole and absolute discretion.
Behavior demonstrating a blatant disregard for person and property will result in immediate suspension and expulsion from the TWS Our House Program. A refund will be provided if the student is expelled at the same rate as if the student was withdrawn early from the program. (Defined in the Our House Program Agreement.)
